Big Dipper’s Vision & Mission Statement

“When people ask me what I want to do in life, I always say I want to have fun, make money, and make a positive impact,” Austin Groesser, founder of Big Dipper, said. “That’s a good life.”

Austin started Big Dipper in hopes of leaving a lasting legacy, something that his great great great great great great great grandkids can talk about and be proud of. He wanted to change the trajectory of his family. 

Big Dipper’s mission statement, “To do good in the world, leave a lasting legacy, and have fun doing it,” is proudly displayed on the website and in the email signatures of every employee. The reminder to do good and have fun on the job is ever present. 

The vision of the company, “To build an international, sustainably focused cpg company with high quality products and a positive impact on the world” alludes to a longer term goal - 15+ years into the future. 

Competing with giants who all have their fair share of ethical, economic, and sustainability issues, Big Dipper hopes to knock off the “big guys.” With truly good intentions - not just to look good for shareholders or on Wall Street - Big Dipper wants to continue making good and healthy products without further polluting the planet. 

On top of creating a better world and leaving a lasting legacy on the planet, Austin also wants to work towards providing good role models to kids who lost a parent. 

“My dad died when I was 11 and I didn’t have a father figure after that,” he said. “I definitely got into some trouble when I was a kid. I think some of it was definitely pain and anger and pushing back against society and to try to fill that pain. Part of it, too, probably, was that I didn’t have a good father figure around that would beat my ass when I got in trouble. I want to make sure kids have that.”

Until Big Dipper starts making large moves in that direction, it’s the little things that make a huge difference. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Austin would take a trash bag with him on hikes and pick up other people’s trash. By working remotely, Big Dipper employees save the environment over 71 metric tons of CO2 emission each year. Being a good role model by creating cookie dough without hurting people around us is something that Big Dipper strives to do every day. 

Cleaning up all the litter on the planet is a gigantic goal that will out-live Austin, something that he’s perfectly aware of. That won’t stop him from working on it every day, though.
